Resources for the Biomass Accumulation Model
In order to run this model, you will need temperature,
precipitation and biome for your location.- Step 1: Find your Latitude and Longitude
- You can use data from your GPS if you have collected it - or use one of the following alternatives:
- This is easy in the carbon cycle mapping tool- just put the mouse over your location of
interest, and the latitude and longitude will be displayed
at the bottom of the screen where it says 'Location.'
- In Google Maps - right click on a location and select 'What's here?'. A location marker will appear on themap and latitude and longitude values will appear in the search bar.
- Step 2: Find your biome and annual climate data
- Now that you have your lat/lon, click here to find climate and biome information for this location
- Your temperature, precipitation, and biome
information will be found in the 'Table of 30 Year Averages'
