The modeling introduction materials should provide the basic information you need about models and modeling before beginning a modeling unit in your classroom.
Modeling engagement activities introduce basic modeling concepts to students through hands-on exercises and thought provoking questions. The Paper Clip Analogy is designed to be the starting point for new modelers, while the Water Demonstration provides additional concepts and reinforces math in modeling and system diagramming.
The introduction materials may also be useful during and after engagement activities to enhance discussion and drive home key points.
